I searched a bit and I found out that Google searches for the words ‘sequin dress’ double every year in November and almost triple in December! Why? Because of the Christmas season coming soon, of course, the ultimate season to wear sequins with every outfit! Nevertheless, I love sequins and I like to wear them all year long. The secret is to wear them on small surfaces of your outfit so that you don’t look overdressed. The smaller the sequin surface, the easier you pull off the outfit on all occasions. This time I decide to opt for a sequin dress with blazer and sneakers.
HOW TO DRESS DOWN A SEQUIN DRESS – OUTFIT IDEA
My first thought was to create a casual but fresh and modern look with my sequin dress.
That’s why I paired it with my V-10 Veja sneakers to bring a breath of fresh air to the outfit.
If you want to recreate this look, try the following tips:
- You can first create a waist with a black belt so that the dress looks more draped, casual and loose-fitting.
- On the top, you can wear a black blazer to give warmth and style to your outfit.
- Finally, you can complete the look with a black bag and a pair of white sneakers.
Here you’ll find the best sneakers at the moment to invest in for 2020.
CAN SEQUIN DRESSES BE ALTERED?
The answer is yes! A sequin dress can be altered and the proof is the dress I wear in my photos. Since I am tall (1.80), I have a small problem with finding the ideal length in dresses. Maxi dresses are not always long enough on me, midi dresses reach not the ideal length under my knee and short dresses are almost always way TOO short!
So, this one I am wearing was originally a midi dress from NA-KD, which you can find here and on me, I didn’t like the length. I had the same problem I have with many midi dresses: I want a dress to be above my knee or under it, but not exactly on the knee. So, I gave it a try and I shortened it and I like it much better like this.
