It’s no surprise considering the Christmas season is just around the corner, making it the perfect time to shine in sequins! However, I personally love sequins and enjoy wearing them throughout the year. After all, parties can happen anytime, and sequin dresses are the ultimate choice for a festive look. The key is to incorporate sequins in small areas of your outfit to avoid looking overly dressed up. The smaller the sequin surface on your outfit, the more versatile the outfit becomes for any occasion. This time, I decided to combine my sequin dress with a blazer and sneakers.

HOW TO DRESS DOWN A SEQUIN DRESS WITH A BLAZER AND SNEAKERS – OUTFIT IDEA

Here’s a stylish outfit idea on how to dress down a sequin dress with a blazer and sneakers.

To achieve a casual yet fresh and modern look, I decided to transform my sequin dress. The key is to minimize the impact of the sequins by layering a blazer over it and adding a pair of sneakers.

I opted for V-10 Veja sneakers to inject a breath of fresh air into the ensemble.

1. Use a black belt to create a defined waist, giving the dress a more draped, relaxed, and loose-fitting appearance.
2. Layer a black blazer on top to add both style and warmth to the outfit.

CAN SEQUIN DRESSES BE ALTERED?

Absolutely! It is indeed possible to alter a sequin dress, and I have the perfect example in the dress showcased in my photos. As a tall individual standing at 1.80 meters (5 feet 10.9 in), I often encounter a challenge when it comes to finding dresses with the ideal length. Maxi dresses tend to fall short on me, midi dresses don’t quite reach the desired length below my knee, and short dresses are typically excessively short.

The dress I’m currently wearing initially had a midi length, which didn’t quite suit me. Like many other midi dresses, I prefer the length to be above or below the knee rather than exactly at the knee level. Therefore, I decided to take matters into my own hands and shortened the dress. The result exceeded my expectations, and I’m now much more pleased with its appearance and fit.
