Ostuni – White pearl of Puglia

Our first excursion to discover Puglia was Ostuni. Like the island of Santorini is kept in white with blue roofs, Ostuni is a kept entirely in white. Situated in the heart of Puglia on a small hill, surrounded by an ancient city wall, it was really amazing when we first approached the city. Of course the historic center is closed for cars, so we had to explore the old town on foot. That day was cloudy but for us it was the perfect weather for exploring and shooting without sweating. One of the most well known attractions and photography spots of Ostuni is the little green/blue door surrounded by cactuses. There were so many beautiful coffee shops, we literally wanted to sit in all of them. The old town of Ostuni with its picturesque alleys, its beautiful purple flowers and cactuses all over was really worth seeing. Behind every corner a little surprise waited for us. Beautiful buildings, creative decorations, alleys full of flowers, sleepy cats, art galleries … exactly as you might expect from a southern Italian city.
