Puglia is a beautiful region located in South Italy, the Heel of the Italian boot. Puglia is known for its trulli, the typical apulian huts with the characteristic conical stone roofs. Once you see these huts you never forget Puglia. Their unique conical roofs gives them an eastern flair. Combined with the Mediterranean landscapes full of olive trees and the desert-like surroundings literally full of cactuses (and salamanders, but so sweet :)), the diversity of natural beauty of this area makes it a must-visit destination. And like if that wasn’t enough, you find there a perfect hot sunny weather and sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters. There is even a beach known as the Italian Maldives not without a reason! Less known by the rest of the European tourists, Puglia is a region which Italians select as their vacation destination and they know better, don’t they? :).

Our trullo was located near the area of Ostuni. The exterior of the trullo was beautiful, decorated with stone, which absolutely matched the surroundings. We had our private pool with a beach-like entrance filled with salt-water, which enhanced the sea-feeling! There were 3 different areas where you could enjoy your breakfast, meal or dinner and a barbecue place. We also had access to the roof top through small stone stairs all around the hut, from where the view was astonishing.

The interior was beautifully decorated and relaxing to see. In the sweet blue-white kitchen we found everything we needed, among which various espresso makers :). On the table a bottle of rose wine, a jar of traditional jam and other local products waited for us to taste them. The whole building consisted of 4-5 trulli connected to each other and the ceilings inside where everywhere arched, even one of the bathrooms was round-shaped (so sweet <3).

The trullo was situated in the middle of a big property full of -what else- olive trees, cactuses and salamanders, which of course we also explored and had some nice photo shoots.

So, that’s all for our trullo in Puglia. If you want to see some videos of the interior of trullo click below.

Enjoy! <3 Jenny
